Spray drift must be avoided at all costs and there are recorded incidences of substantial costs awarded against operators whose poor practices or equipment selection caused significant damage or crop losses to neighbouring properties.
Silvan Australia has introduced a new range of spray nozzles designed to reduce the incidence of spray drift.
Manufactured in Italy by ASJ ARAG they are Drift Reducing Air Induction Spray Nozzles and have provided 85% reductions of drift in windy conditions.
They have been officially tested by irstea (the National Research Institute of Science and Technology for Environment and Agriculture) and this test is recognised by ENTAM members (the European Network for Testing Agricultural Machinery).
In consequence they meet all standards and are internationally colour coded nozzles.
Key design features include a 110 degree spray angle, long life material construction with the air induction design minimising drift.
The material used is made from Delrin®, a polymer ensuring high chemical stability and an exceptionally long useful life.
They are an ideal replacement for flat fan nozzles.
They are sold as a twelve-nozzle pack.
The twelve pack includes sufficient nozzles to fit to a 6 metre width spray boom which is a popular scale of a linkage spray rig.
Size availabilities are 015, 02, 025, 03, 04, 05, 06.
An iPhone app is also available. “ARAG ASJ Nozzles Configurator” to assist in the best nozzle selection to suit the customer’s needs.
